Together, they investigated the opium den and discovered a sinister plot that involved several high-ranking officials. Mei-Ling's bravery and determination helped to uncover the truth and put an end to the opium trade in London. She was hailed as a hero and granted asylum in the city. Mei-Ling had finally found her freedom, and she was determined to make the most of it.
