Mei-Ling Chan

London, 1880. Mei-Ling Chan was brought from China against her will and forced to work in an opium den. She had no idea how long she had been trapped in this place, but she knew it was too long. The only thing that kept her going was the hope of escaping this hellhole.  Mei-Ling had tried to escape several times before, but she had always been caught and punished severely.

She knew she couldn't do it alone, so she started to plan. She befriended one of the girls who worked there, and together they started to gather information about the place.  One night, Mei-Ling and her friend waited until the guards were distracted and made their move. They ran as fast as they could, but they were soon discovered. Mei-Ling's friend was caught, but Mei-Ling managed to escape. She ran through the dark streets of London, not knowing where to go.

As she was running, she stumbled upon a detective who was investigating a case nearby. Mei-Ling told him her story, and he promised to help her. Together, they investigated the opium den and discovered a sinister plot that involved several high-ranking officials.  Mei-Ling's bravery and determination helped to uncover the truth and put an end to the opium trade in London. She was hailed as a hero and granted asylum in the city. Mei-Ling had finally found her freedom, and she was determined to make the most of it.
